Ingredient Glossary

Every single ingredient is chosen with intention. We prioritize skin nutrition based on biologically compatible ingredients that work with skin, not against it.

SVEDA FORMULATIONS

The NutriDense Philosophy: Nourishment is the Foundation of Healthy Skin

For years, the wellness industry has transformed the way we think about nutrition. We've learned that true health isn't built on excess, it's built on thoughtfully chosen, nutrient-dense ingredients that nourish the body over time. We believe skincare should follow the same philosophy.

Rather than overwhelming skin with unnecessary ingredients or chasing the latest trends, we believe healthy skin begins with intentional nourishment.

Every SVEDA product is built around our NutriDense Philosophy, a formulation approach centered on biologically compatible, nutrient-dense ingredients chosen for their ability to work in harmony with the skin.

This philosophy guides every decision we make, from ingredient selection to formulation, ensuring every product supports healthier, more resilient skin.

SVEDA Ingredient Glossary

Bakuchiol

Retinol works. That's not really up for debate anymore. But for a significant portion of people, it also burns, peels, and causes enough irritation that they quietly give up on it. Bakuchiol exists in that gap.

Beeswax

Beeswax gives skincare a smooth, easy-to-apply texture while naturally softening and sealing in moisture. Thanks to its rich wax and fatty acid content, it helps keep skin hydrated and protected.

Caviar Extract

Caviar extract has a reputation for being a luxury ingredient that's more about optics than outcomes. It's worth knowing that the reputation for performance is just as strong, if you look at what's actually in it.

Elderberry

Elderberry extract, derived from the antioxidant-rich superfruit, has long been valued for overall wellness and is now recognized for its potential in skincare.

Elemi

While the fresh aroma of elemi uplifts the senses with invigorating brightness, this essential oil also delivers skin-enhancing benefits beyond aromatherapy.

Grass-Fed Beef Tallow

SVEDA's beef tallow is certified organic, artisinally-rendered, and intensively filtered for several hours, crafted from 100% organic, non-GMO, grass-fed, grass-finished, and pasture-raised suet sourced from independent ranches in the USA.

Green Tea

Few ingredients have held up under scientific scrutiny the way green tea has.

Hydrolyzed Pearl

Pearl has been used in East Asian skincare for over a thousand years. That's not a marketing origin story, it's just a long time for something to stick around, and ingredients don't survive that long in beauty traditions without doing something worth noticing.

Jojoba Oil

A prized complexion oil, jojoba oil is a wax ester with a unique composition closely resembling human sebum, making it highly biocompatible with the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Neroli

While the green floral aroma of neroli uplifts the spirit with its citrusy freshness, this precious oil is more than aromatic.

Radish Root Ferment

Skincare formulas need preservation. The question is how you get there. Most brands default to synthetic preservatives that do the job but don't particularly care what else they disrupt along the way. This takes a different approach.

Silk Peptide

Silk has a texture that's genuinely difficult to replicate, and it turns out the protein at the center of it behaves just as well on skin as it does as a fabric.

Sunflower Seed Oil

Sunflower oil doesn't get much attention in skincare conversations, which is a little odd given how well it performs.

Tsubaki Oil

Geishas didn't document their skincare routines, but tsubaki oil shows up again and again in accounts of how they maintained such famously clear, resilient skin.

Vanilla

Known for its warm, comforting aroma, vanilla essential oil soothes the senses and is often used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E has long been a go-to in natural and modern skincare for a good reason—it helps lock in moisture, softens rough patches, and supports a healthy skin barrier with its powerful antioxidant properties.

White Rose

Rosa alba has been grown for its skin-calming properties since antiquity, it's one of those ingredients with a paper trail long enough that the modern beauty industry mostly just caught up to what people already knew.
