I was so excited to try this Whipped Tallow Balm from Sveda. It comes in a heavy glass container with a black matte metal lid that feels very premium and would make a lovely gift. The tallow balm has a thick, solid feel to it and when you remove it from the container, it needs to be warmed up a bit to easily spread it around. It feels silky on the skin and while it does spread around easily enough, it leaves behind a shiny appearance on the skin.
It moisturizes well but doesn't absorb fully enough for me to feel comfortable using it on my face or during the daytime when I need to be active.
For me personally, I also wasn't a fan of the smell. It thankfully didn't smell like beef, like I was a little worried about as this is my first experience with tallow skincare (I've only used it for cooking and it doesn't have a distinct smell). I can smell the hint of vanilla oil which is pleasant, but I think the other oils included are detracting from that vanilla and making it smell unpleasant for me. I can't use something that lingers on my skin if I'm not a fan of the scent.
